RCIA
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a process for adults who wish to become members of the Catholic Church. For adults who have not yet been baptized, the RCIA has three major liturgical rites: Acceptance into the Order of Catechumens; Election or Enrollment of Names, and celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation. The celebration of initiation is followed by a post baptismal catechesis of Mystagogy. For those already baptized, there are rites appropriate for their journey into full communion with the church. RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation of Children). Those children who are between the ages of 7 and 16 may participate in the process of Christian Initiation of Children. They receive instruction and are formed in the Catholic faith. After a period of time, they, too, participate in the Acceptance into the Order of Catechumens. Interested adults or children may enter the process at any time. RCIA classes will begin in January. For more information, please call Mrs. Joyce Politte at 573-438-3973.
