Preschool Curriculum
The preschool curriculum is a theme-based curriculum, aligned with the Early Childhood Standards for Programs for Three and Four Year Olds and the Missouri Curriculum Frameworks. Our programs are designed to help each child realize his/her own potential and provide a solid foundation for future learning. The curriculum is designed to provide active learning experiences in four developmental areas of a child’s growth: communication, cognitive, physical, and social emotional. Communication opportunities encourage expressive and receptive language development and practice listening, following directions, sequencing, increasing vocabulary and conversation. Cognitive activities include early literacy activities, and concept development using books, manipulatives, exploration, songs, and movement activities. Social/emotional opportunities encourage children’s confidence, positive self-esteem, sharing expressing feelings, and experiencing the joys of friendship. Physical activities include running, climbing, sensory motor activities, ball handling, pouring, cutting with scissors, lacing, coloring, and gluing.
